School for black civil rights activists; young girl being trained to not react to smoke blown in her face
Virginia, 1960This is deep. You train to get in shape, you train for a job. In some circles, you ride or run a train.
But to be trained to not react to smoke disrespectfully blown in your face? smh Images like this need to be shown for Black History Month. It’s not always about the Martins and George Washington Carvers. The everyday folks who put their lives on the line should be remembered.
